Is it safe to use a hot tub after a heart attack 6 months ago? My partner is also waiting for a triple bypass...I am concerned about him using it. Thanks

As long as he is accompanied I can't see why not. I was told it is just extremes of cold that should be avoided.
I would say no it isn't safe. Hot tubs and Jacuzzis raise the blood pressure. I have seen people develop nose bleeds while sitting in a Jacuzzi at my health club. I suppose he could try it and just be aware.
We went away six months after husbands ha. Consultant said he could use hot tub with care. He had to turn off bubbles five or more minutes before getting out of the tub. We were anxious and he only went in it two or three times and not for long so didn’t have bubbles on for many minutes .
Hi there
I think you just have to be sensible with these things. I’ve not had a HA but have had angina for 10 years, 8 stents and am 7 weeks post quadruple bypass.
I’ve used hot tubs, steam rooms and saunas until I had my op. Being aware of what the heat does to your body and how to stay safe is the most important thing.
For the hot tub, I’d say have a short session, if you have control of the heat setting then don’t have it too hot. Don’t go in after a significant meal and perhaps be careful with alcohol consumption.
Make sure you’re careful getting out in case your hubbie feels lightheaded.
Once he knows how the heat affects him he can decide if he wants to use it more.
The hot tub can be very relaxing, I brought one this summer for lockdown and having had my op cancelled in March it was lovely to sit in and relax both on the really hot days and the cooler days.
Hope it goes well and he gets his op soon.

Thank you for taking the time to reply everyone. I've been thinking of buying a hot tub and was concerned about him using it on a regular basis. It's a big financial output if he can't use it and get the benefits of it. His health comes first in the end. Thanks again
Could I ask you to reconsider? These things consume an awful lot of electricity and are not environmentally friendly, don't forget the next crisis that is coming down the road.
I had heart failure, and I tried a hot tub once and also the blue lagoon in Iceland, I felt awful, sick, dizzy I thought I would feint it was a bit scary, same with sauna, but mabe because its different conditions all being heart related, you might be ok, char
