HA March 2020. Heart failure 1 stent. Recent EcG and jelly scan ok. I get pain (last 4 months) in the back left side opposite my heart upper to mid back then it radiates to mid back and across both sides (it’s an ache/ sharp pain. Pain is constant/ever present. Comes on everyday usually by mid afternoon and is eased by lying on my bed on my right side ...any views? I don’t believe it’s angina as it comes on even when sitting watching TV. Can get worse when sitting with back against chair ??

Back pain upper left side opposite heart ? PSG March 2020 heart failure
Hi, I think that is one for your GP/Cardiac team, I would want to rule out anything serious with constant pain like that (possibly an infection? carditus). "eased by lying on my bed on my right side" I have exactly the opposite where I cant sleep or lie on my left side at all due to what feels like pressure on my heart.(but i've had a heck of a lot more done to me - so I expect issues lol)
Fully agree with Smarticus. Tell your GP/cardiac team about it. Had MI in June and 2 stents fitted. After 10 days was getting discomfort including intermittent pain between shoulder blades that started small but built up.
GP got me into day care at local hospital who dig ECG and blood tests. Also CT scan as in my particular case the doctor was worried that back pain could be a separated Aorta. I understand that early diagnosis critical. I can only go on my own experience so suggest you get it checked out asap.
I have no idea what it could be, but it's far best to get this checked out asap. If you can't get to see your doctor quickly, call 111 who will probably get a doctor to call you back and then make further arrangements as they deem necessary. I have done that once, and within an hour was given an appointment at a nearby hospital where I was thoroughly checked. It turned out there was nothing much wrong and hopefully this will be the case for you too.
Yea, That's the same thing I suffered many years ago and did think it was heart pain. After seeing a cardiac doctor he did find a problem. I had Cardiomyopathy, but the pain did not attribute to that ailment. Now that I'm much older I no longer suffer that pain but I do recognise the pain was due to tension without me knowing. The pain was as yours very painful at times, there constantly, and disappeared when lying down. I did try painkillers to no avail and did become slightly depressed on occasion. Alcohol did relieve the pain and only alcohol, but in small quantities, but eventually it did go away. The alcohol relaxed the chest muscles giving me relief, but subsequently I did learn this type of pain is popular with young men. Good Luck.
My Dad is having this exact same problem, he can’t sit up for long and needs to lay on his left side. He has been to the doctors twice and they just gave him pain killers. I’m getting really worried, is there any update on your condition?
I hope you’re feeling better and that they have found the cause.
Hi, for me, its been like that for nearly two years, the pain has decreased slightly but I have just learnt to live with it. HTH
OMG ..... I read your symptoms and circumstances as a mirror of mine . My big problem is the pain in the back again in the very same area as you and same time of the day !!!I’m reaching out to see if you made any progress or indeed managed to stop these pains ? Best regards seasoning greetings
