Does anyone find that taking blood pressure medications makes their reflux worse. I started with Silent reflux back in early 2014 I have managed to keep under control with diet. I started taking Amlodipine since March and I am having issues. Apparently calcium channel blockers, beta blockers, and Ace among others can cause this. There is a calcium channel blocker beginning with D Diltiazem. has anyone found this one ok to take. I need to change as getting a few problems not sleeping. Flushes. Body swelling up. Wondering how everyone is coping on blood pressure meds in particular

Acid reflux

These drugs do cause gastritis. Most of us appear to be on Lansoprazole to suppress acid. Personally I find the avoidance of rich or fatty food and chilli, along with acid such as orange juice helps. Oh and and gavascon of course!
Hello,
I have the same problem I already had Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and taking Amlodipine has worsen the condition. So I take Lansoprazole and also Gaviscon all prescribed by my GP.
Hi,
I already had a reflux problem and have taken Omeprazole. Having felt the matter was settled when my gall bladder was removed I reduced the dose to every other day but after a week or so found renewed issues so take it daily now. My amlodipine causes leg swelling - it goes down over night but during the night my legs can feel as if they are burning and every so often I get severe night sweats.
However without these and other meds I was having an angina attack almost every day.
