I know lots of us around here have a cardiac device (pacemaker, ICD, CRT-D/P, LVAD, mechanical valves, loop recorders, etc...) and I would love it if some of you were up for sharing your thoughts about living with a device over on my Hearty Tales project blog. Full details on the blog post here - heartytalescouk.wordpress.c...
Given my own cyborg status (I've had a CRT-D for over 7 years) I'm very passionate about this topic and would love to share as many device-assisted voices as possible. Please do consider taking part. And if you are not up for writing a haiku, comments in any form are also much appreciated.
Thanks, everyone!

It took me a long time to get used to mine but I equal parts love it/don't think about it now. Definitely still early days for you - hope you and your device end up getting on well. Good luck!
hi laura i have an icd fitted in sept 2019 after a cardiac arrest in august it was ok at the time and the pain form the opp was going nicely the icd does protrude out of its location on the left of my chest ,and since febuary after a double bypass my icd area on my chest is causing quite a lot of pain daily ,my cardiac nurse tells me its recovery pain but its nearly 12 months since the icd was fitted would love to hear comments from others with the same problem .
Sorry Caban, only just spotted your reply. That's such a shame that your recovery was interrupted by another procedure. I hope things improve soon. It's not something I have experience of (my device has been fine since it eventually settled in) but I wish you well.
