Mine goes pretty low as well, same sort of order as you're talking about. I do get dizzy spells sometimes when I stand up. I pretty-much always have, long before my "incident" and operation last year.

I’m a 57yo woman and would say that I’m active and in good shape physically for my age. I wear a Fitbit and my resting pulse rate hovers around the 53 mark. I too discussed this with my doctor who said that a lot of people have rates that low and without any other negative symptoms it’s nothing to worry about. As u have the dizziness I would do an online consultation with your GP.

Do u record your blood pressure as well? Is that ok?

Hi Mark. I invested in a Fitbit shortly after my bypass to lose weight and get fit again. My resting heart rate hovers around 60 but drops to mid 40s while asleep. I also get dizzy spells (usually when standing up or getting up from crouching) but I also suffer from hypertension so my GP suspects it's just my body reacting to losing weight and getting fitter so they may alter my BP medication.

By the way, I have found using the Myfitnesspal app (linked to fitbit) which tracks what I eat really useful for losing weight and improving my diet.

As others have said, do go and see a doctor. It's the dizziness/tiredness that need attention. Do you have a blood pressure machine; if you do check that too. But go to a doctor.

(You don't say if you are on any medication that might suppress your heart rate?)

I used to have the equivalent of a fitbit, its now in a drawer somewhere. I was becoming obsessed with the readings it gave me; I worried about things that didn't seem quite right, when in reality, there was nothing wrong.

I still take my pulse, well sometimes. Eg when something odd happens, like feeling off colour. I use an oximeter for that, so its a conscious decision, when there is a reason. I appreciate that many actually want to know this type of information. I surprised myself really by preferring not to know.

Perhaps I have a personality that tends to hypochondria, but I feel better for not knowing. Yes, I prefer to be an ostrich, at least for this, so will probably get kicked up the backside.

Hi Henry I am not on any medication at all I am 50 years old and recently have put lots of weight on 23 stone at my heaviest so got the fit bit to help me loose weight so I am not sure if most of the symptoms I have are related to my weight not my heart I have started loosing weight which doesn’t want to go 21 stone at the moment so could that account for the dizziness there are other symptoms I have too that concern me but they could also be weight related I think I will contact my doctor just in case he can then hopefully rule out any potential problems thanks for your help
