T wave inversion
Hi , last year after my HA I had a few visits to hospital with episodes of angina and feeling very unwell. My ecg's showed that inversion and to the best of my understanding the heart can switch polarity which causes the change? I haven't needed anything specifically for it, as it's part of the re mapping that happened. I'm really not too sure how accurately I've recalled the conversations, so it's probably best to talk to a cardiac nurse or doctor. Good luck with everything 👍
Hi, I have a T wave inversion caused by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. For many years it hasn’t been a problem, but last year I had to have a pacemaker and ICD fitted. Best to discuss with a heart specialist. If it helps I’m 59. BTW, having had the procedure I, back to doing all the sports that I ever did.
About 40 years ago, I was told I had an inverted T wave and it didn't seem to cause any problems, but 10 months ago, I was diagnosed with Mobitz type 2 heart block and had a pacemaker fitted. I have no idea if the two things are linked.
Telling someone they have an inverted T wave in isolation means very little. There are many causes of this condition and they vary from benign to life threatening. A cardiologist would look at the full 12-lead result together with other results such as an Echocardiogram and X-ray. Did your friend seek further information?
