Swollen ankle
I would think that sitting still at your desk with your foot sitting still on the floor for long periods is the cause of the swelling. If you can get your leg raised while sitting it should help, but it is not easy to achieve. I worked at a computer for many years and found it necessary to get up and have a walk around every so often. The general recommendation is to get up and move around, maybe get a drink, at least once every hour. In the evening I found raising my legs when resting helped avoid my ankles aching.
When avein is taken from tge leg it disrupts the natural flow of blood. After my op I was told that it would take some time before it settled down. Even now two years post op I still have reduced sensation around my ankle and have thread veins in the area. I also have reduced sensation where an artery was harvested from my arm. I was told to massage both areas and while this does give a strange sensation, I feel that overall it does help.
If your symptoms persist I would have a word with your GP in case there is an underlying issue.
A low footstool to get your knees elevated which relieves the pressure from thighs. Yes, walk a bit for circulation. Also sleep with knees and feet elevated. Not just feet or you cause knee problems.
