twelve weeks have passed since I had a triple by pass and aortic valve replacement. Sternum wound and chest are fine. Although my leg wound from the graft site has also healed, I am still getting a swollen ankle and leg. Each morning when I rise that leg is nearly normal in size but swells during the day.
My question is whether this is normal at this stage of my recovery. I'm walking about a mile a day and start cardiac rehab in a week's time.

This can be normal for quite a while but let the Doctor just check as sometimes water retention can be a reason to but hopefully in time it will all settle down x
thanks for you feedback. AS luck would have it my GP checked it out yesterday. He told me that the healing process involved means more fibrous tissue around my wound site was part of the reason and that it would all settle down in time.
The reason for my post was to see what other’s experience was and is.
I’ll be 12 weeks post quadruple this Friday and my leg is still a little swollen and I have very little touch sensation in the back of my leg all the way up to my groin.
I had no idea it was going to be keyhole surgery if I had I would have requested open surgery, I heal quickly and the size of the scar didn’t bother me where as now I feel this is now going to be a same for ever.
