Hi has anyone noticed thier heart rate increase. I had HA in december. Been using a fitbit to xheck heart rate for 5 weeks it was 67 to 69 resting. For last 3 days its been 90 plus on ocassion hitting hundred. Not chenged meds or done anything different. Bit worried.

Not sure how accurate your fitbit is but that rise is not what you want too see I would recommend you contact your GP or call 111.

I wouldnt rely on a fitbit. Best to take manual readings by 2 fingers on your pulse. Some fitbits are fairly accurate but most are not. The same with some monitors, our monitor was showing a HR in the 70's but hospital said HR was low 50's. Now we always take the pulse manually and its generally low 50's.
If your resting HR is consistently high then definitely speak to your GP/111 for advice.
Check your fitbit. When I take my blood pressure I also check the pulse rate shown with that on my fitbit and it has always shown the same or within one point and I'm quite happy with that. If you don't have a BP monitor it would be handy to buy one (for arm not wrist) or at least find out if you can have it (and your pulse) checked by pharmacy or GP surgery. 90 seems a bit high compared with your usual measurement so you need to speak with someone if it's accurate.
I have a Garmin sports watch, at rest it's spot on with blood pressure monitor & manual checks. As soon as I get up & move around it seems to spike up quite quickly. When out on my bike it can be reading 40 BPM more than it actually is

I agree regarding the accuracy of wrist based monitors. They all have the same problem of trying to track heart rate against outside forces e.g moving your arm about. In particular on a bike I think this is made worse by leaning on the handlebars. I bought a chest strap monitor which fixes these problems but is a bit uncomfortable.
Hi, I concur with all replies, I had a fitbit then changed to a samsung and finally after research went for what is supposed to be one of the most accurate on the market the Garmin 245,but even then, I notice it is not always right, I know when my heart is beating fast and some times the watch has been 10/15 beats out and some.times I notice it double counts so the reading is double what my rate is, its accurate when in fitness mode but then is not accurate during slow down of my HR as I check manually. as such when you think it's wrong check it ma usually or if you have a smart phone download an app called Heart Rate Plus, it's a good second check. in other words dont get stressed as it is probably your watch and some times our does vary, at time, after food, dehydrated, too hot, too cold, so dont worry unless your in discomfort.
My Fitbit average resting 53bpm .if it goes up to say 60 I would be feeling a bit off colour so I feel that you need to get checked over ,
I have a Samsung and I have come to the conclusion you have to take the readings with a pinch of salt, sometimes it can be fairly accurate and other times way off. I have just been for an hours walk and my average rate was 192bpm somehow I don't think so. I do enjoy the watch for other things and if anything it makes you more aware of how active you are and helps spur you on. Best advice has to be if you feel fine you probably are.

I was using a Fitbit to track my BPM and ended up chucking it in the bin. The problem as I see it is that they are not particularly accurate and can end up stressing you out and causing high pulse rate. I was finding that I was checking my pulse rate every 5 minutes and panicking if it was rising at rest. The best advice I had was not to worry unless you feel unwell. If you can exercise without pain then you are probably doing fine.
