Admission to hospital

This was my ECG prior to a collapse and admission to hospital where I had very low phosphates and low potassium and discharged after 3 days of treatment. But they didn’t find out what caused these levels to be low ! So I still don’t know ? I do have SVT and vasovagal syndrome. But this was not a nice “ blip” as I call them and must have been brought on my the low levels. They wanted to start me on 50 mg Flecainide x 2 a day ! I said no. Not until you find out what caused the levels to be so low as this light have caused the heart issue and it wasn’t my heart (if this makes sense ) I don’t know why but Flecainide scares me and so many contradictions with other meds.

All medications have inserts that warn of possible side effects. However, these are usually quite rare and no reason for not taking them. I have noticed a lot of posts that say something like "I have been prescribed ABC, any side effects?" Just because one person had a side effect doesn't mean you will get it

As regards potassium there are many reasons for a low level. It could be something like a recent bout of D+V, illness, some medication, et cetera. Much of the western world has low potassium levels. There are numerous sources like milk (preferably skimmed), bananas, spinach, tuna and so on. Have a Google for potassium containing foods.

So I would suggest you try the medication and check your diet.

Thanks diet ok and I’m on so many vitamins. They were more concerned about the phosphates as they said were extremely low and was rare to be that low. Hopefully my GP will get to the bottom of it. My vitamin D and calcium were all ok and my parathyroid hormone.
