Hi...I was started on bisoprolol a month ago....5mg to start then reduced to 2.5mg. I have the same symptoms as you. It's getting very distressing. Have you found some relief? Thanks.

Hey there...glad to hear there is someone out there with these same feelings...because it is hard to describe to people unless you had them...Relief?...it is almost two weeks since switched to a channel blocker...Cardizem120... from beta blocker..honestly 5 days in felt great...went out and did a walk and an hour gardening...the lung burning that evening and smothering feeling was as bad or worse on channel blocker...11 days in... always there but not as pronounced...hr is not as regular as on beta blocker...but never shoots up past 105 when gardening etc...but faint and hard to count at times...When I talk with my cardiologist this Wednesday...don't know what to say... will always have this problem??...is this how I will always feel?...better off back on Lopressor...rate etc was better controlled???...So fed up!!..Will let you know!!Bisoprolol even half dose was awful for me...what drove me to a channel blocker!

Actually, it doesn't seem that my issue is the same as yours. I think the pain in my back and sore throat is more related to acid reflux/gerd. Going in for an endoscopy in the next 2 weeks. The gastroenterologist told me to take my PPI 2x/day two weeks ago and that has now mainly alleviated my symptoms, although I still notice them to a small degree. I'm not sure I like the bisoprolol.....have some lightheadedness, weak legs, breathless feeling some times. Going to see if I can change to a different beta blocker. Hopefully your issues can get sorted out for you!!

you know...I mentioned to my own gp...could this be gerd and blaming everything on afib....now taking nexium for a month...on it 4 days already and the upper back pain is not gone but improved!!!...still have the feeling of what I call scorched lungs on inspiration..not pleasant...can live with it because do believe it is the afib and medication for it!...I thought I was bad on Lopressor...the Bisoprolol...as many on here agree...is a terrible drug for side effects for some!! I feel my cardiologist still hasn't found the right recipe for me...they say it sometimes is a battle to find the right mix!!...Hang in there...keep in touch!!!
