Self isolate?

Hi all, my husband had an Aorta Valve Replacement 11 weeks ago today, and is doing really well, no health issues at all. He hasn't had notification to self isolate, should he be? and could he still get notification? Where does the self isolate notification come from? ie.....GP, hospital where he got the op or General Health Board. Thanks in advance. Hope you are all bearing up & coping well in these circumstances..🤞👍

Hi sconie,

I had AVR in October, hadn't received any letter. I've not been out for 3 weeks (my choice). Called GP yesterday and was told that I'm not on any high risk list and to follow gov guidelines.

Suggest you check with your GP..

Stay safe

Hi pinkrobin

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Hubby had a scheduled phone call from his GP yesterday, checking on his BP as it had been slightly high, but better now, he asked how he was coping, hubby said, good, staying in, but exercising round the garden, but there was no mention of self isolating for 12 weeks or that he was high risk......

Hope you keep well, stay safe..👍

Hello. I had my AVR on the 4th March (six weeks ago) and wasn't told about being high risk. A couple of days after discharge I visited my GP Surgery to get my drain stitches removed. The Nurse told me to go straight home and isolate as I was very high risk!

I had a Telephone App with my GP a week later and she told me the same i.e. High risk not very high risk. I'm still allowed one walk a day and my GP said keep your hands in your pockets and do not go to the shops.

I contacted my Surgeons PA and asked the question again. I was told I'm at high risk for 8 weeks post procedure. On the back of this advice, My Mrs works at a GP Surgery and has been told to work from home until the 8 weeks are up. Its the same for my Daughter who works for the Probation Service.

We as a family are doing what the rest of the UK are doing except I'm not not allowed to do the Grocery Shopping. I hate shopping but after another two weeks the Mrs will make me muck in.

Hi swingyourpants.........thank you for your reply.

Hope you are keeping well, and taking things easy, but doing the recommended exercise. My hubby is doing good, he hasn't been going to the shops, but doing his daily walk so getting his exercises.

Hopefully, this situation won't go on for too long, fingers crossed 🤞

Take care....👍
