Hi hope everyone doing well, reading all these posts and the difficulties people have with their heart, makes me realise how fortunate I am.Living with my heart failure for past 6 yrs made me feel so vulnerable, having been extremely fit and healthy, then my heart getting damaged by chemotherapy left me hardly being able to function, but within 3 months I got back to just about my usual fitness with stubbornness and determination.About 3 yrs ago was told I didn't need any more hospital checkups, still on all the meds which I must say agreed with me from the get go.I had never even heard of heart failure before when I took it I thought I had a death sentence. Now I see I am one of the lucky ones as I dont really have much symptoms now,I always wondered is it because mines was caused by the chemotherapy rather than anything else.Stay well everyone

My cardiologist was certainly on his game as heart failure nurses said at time he gave me great combination of medications. But found him quite a scary character and not over friendly but was excellent at his job.My Oncologist on the other hand was more friendly.Which I need as I have what they call white coat syndrome.I hate even going into a chemist let alone a GP surgery or hospital.Guess it's to do when I was young my Mum went into hospital and never came out.Same as my Dad a few years later.Glad you are also doing well Jo.Long may it continue, stay happy and healthy
How lovely to hear something positive. Since my diagnosis of hole I. The heart and heart failure in February I have been left with so many unanswered questions as covid 19 has now taken over the hospitals and I can’t even get to speak to my specialist. One thing that really worries me is whether my heart will have any recovery from the heart failure once I finally have my operation. I’m only 45 and can’t even walk half a mile without it really affecting me and find it difficult just doing daily household chores. Your post has given me some hope. Thank you. Stay safe. 🌈
There is always hope. When I was discharged from hospital 6 yrs ago.I was in for 3 weeks I must have put on at least 3st all fluid.Nurses said I wouldn't even manage hoovering let alone much else.At first this was so true so started wee bits of walking, then bought a treadmill and after about 6 months was on that treadmill at least 4 times daily building up my steps my best was 26000 all be it in stages this must have made my heart stronger.Manage all housework now.My problem is when I take hot flushes that makes heart beat faster and leaves me tired.I have always been young at heart and mix a lot with my Daughter and her young friends. You stay positive people cant believe I suffer from heart failure
I so like your reply, the thing is the cardiac team do their best to help us, then it's up to us to help our self's, they are not hard it's a two way thing.
Exactly they give us the tools,ie medication and after I felt sorry for myself for what seemed like ages as I kept thinking to myself that my time was up.Then my need to get better kicked in and there was no stopping me.
