Delightful surprise

I've been having breathlessness since around August last year. At Christmas I was given a holter monitor and an echo scan. All I was ever told was that both tests were ok. From last week my breathing got worse. I suspected pollen was the cause so today I had a GP appointment when he told me that the echo showed my ejection fraction was between 55 and 60. For someone 4 years on from a heart attack and unable to exercise because of very bad spinal problems, I'm absolutely over the moon.

Thrilled especially after they had me back for another angiogram to look at 2 further blockages that were around 65%

What an excellent result. Well done! Presumably your breathing issue was down to pollen. 😀

Thanks all. It's great to get some good news because everything else seems to be going wrong; my spine's got worse and now even my elbow ( about the only bit of me that didn't have problems!)

Relief might be better. I know I have two other blockages so the breathlessness was a concern..

All the best for the future. 'Relief' - I can equate to that.

your story is confusing. delightful surprise? over the moon? why? because your ejection fraction is 55 to 60? how do you know it went up? what if it was higher before? if it was, then this 55 or 60 would be a drop. and that wouldn't be so delightful. if you're feeling breathless now then it most likely dropped to the 55, 60. you should've had a previous test.

I had tests, an echo scan after my heart attack when it was around 50. A further echo scan this year showed the results I have posted. The breathlessness turned out to be a combination of a muscular problem affecting my diaphragm and hay fever.
