Stopping and starting could be your problem, I am on 2.5mg, initially similar probs, but the benefits out way the side effects, the longer you take it then the symptoms will subside. And if they don’t after a month or two, it will want reviewing by your GP. Regards Stephen

Hi, I was on Ramipril didn’t have your side affects mine was a persistent cough changed on to Candesatan but you shouldn’t be starting and stopping your medication. Speak with your GP but you have to let your body get use to the Ramipril.

Hope things improve for you, if not speak to your GP

Stay safe best wishes Pauline

Please speak to your G.P if your getting those side effects. You shouldn't be stopping and starting them though.

My Cardiologist put me on them a few years ago. I was okay for a couple of weeks, but then i had such severe side effects that I ended up in Rhesus. I had gone to bed the one night , but I woke up because i couldn't breathe. My lips were bluish and my tongue had swollen up so much that it filled my entire mouth. We didn't even wait for an Ambulance. My Hubby took me straight to A&E and i was rushed into Rhesus .When I saw my Cardiologist, he said that it was because of the Ramapril .He' said that he was going to take all of his Patients off that particular tablet. Even before that happened to me..So none of Mr Browns Patients are on Ramipril anymore..

It's a shame really, because up until then it did help me. So the safest thing to do is to go and have a word with your G.P..

Take Care and Stay Safe .😊 Gjkas .

Oh that’s really terrible, you must be so sad. We hear the news and hear the number of deaths but you have personal knowledge of some of these people.

Take care and stay safe Pauline

I had similar experience with ramipril and advised to change when I took them. I took late evening and helped a bit.

I got changed off ramipril to losartan after two weeks because of my lips swelling. Ramipril is the one drug I have heard people mention the most since my HA in the context of side effects. I would speak to your GP about alternatives.
