Just had a crtd (Cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrilator) fitted , I also volunteered for trial involving multi- pacing, this involves an extra lead fitting, four instead of three, this done at random and patient not told of this extra lead until trial is finished, anybody else joined a previous trial or this one, sheffield

Hi, I had the 3 lead fitted 11 weeks ago, feel good but has tailed off a bit recently, might just be time of year or got cold working on me, how has yours been so far?

No change yet, but limited to what I can do until it all heals up, already had double bypass , time will tell, but every little thing will help, thanks stephen

I have the 3 lead one fitted around 18 months ago... and it's definitely helped me. One thing that did help was going to rehab after the op. This was not initially offered to me however I read about it on this site from others, who said you have to request rehab. So I did. And it was so useful.

I have built up an exercise regime so that I walk for 40 mins at least 5 x a week. This has really helped my fitness and my heart function, and I feel much healthier and fitter than I did.

My EF has gone from 31 ( severe heart failure), to 42 ( medium/mild heart failure) thanks to my trusty friend.

I the only downside is battery life as I only had around 5 years due to where they had to position the leads... so only 3 1/2 years left.... but it's been so worth it...I definitely have a new lease of life ... although it did take time to build up to how I am now feeling. All the best and would be interested to hear about the 4 lead one. Karen x

Thank you for your reply, my EF was 15-20 pre bypass, now up to 28, hopefully this will increase in future.i was very fit before all this happened, so hopefully can get back to something like🙂regards Stephen, as time goes on I will keep posting my progress.
