Had an echo this morning Hospital very quiet, but Car Park full. The technician said he had seen me twice before now classed as a Regular LOL
He couldn't tell me my ef as he needs to work it out, what he did show me was my 100% blocked RCA and the Scar Tissue on the Heart. Very very interesting stuff.
He also said the results will be with my Heart Failure Nurse and Cardiologist this Afternoon, makes you wonder why sometimes these things take so long.

Hi Frank, the technician was able to tell us what kevins EF was as soon as the echo was over, we're just waiting for confirmation from the cardiologist to confirm what happens now, with pacing his heart etc
I wish I'd known that we could look at the scar tissue & blocked artery, would have been interested to see that. Particularly because the technician did mention it and because the medics are so conservative with kevins treatment.
I think he could have indicated if it has improved or not, but because I have a conversation on Monday with the Heart Failure Cardiology unit maybe he didn't like to pre judge anything that will be said then !!
The scar tissue was so very clear, it shows up as plain white on the grey screen. He also showed me the wall that has thickened so the muscle can't work as well as it should, I think that's what causes the lowered EF
Hi Frank you've obviously got a lot similarities with Kevin, his heart wall has also thickened, he also has an aneurysm on the wall! But now I'm thinking, there was a lot of white on the screen!!
Hope it's good news for you when you get the results, keep in touch.
Stay safe, Kevins been told to self isolate..... 🤔 Not good for his mental health or mine, or the dogs!! 😂
I think it is not so much a case of taking longer than necessary to get a proper outcome from a test, i think it is more a case of the technician showing you what can be seen where as the Cardiologists have to ensure a confirmation of the results along with the working out the way forward as a result of what the test is telling them.
I sometimes think the litigation of health nowadays has made clinicians so much more afraid to 'offer an opinon off the cuff' for fear of someone holding them or the trust to account via the law courts.
Still being new to this heart failure stuff, I'm not sure if your EC results are good bad or indifferent. I hope that you get a positive outcome form this test.
The reason for the echo is to work out would a CRT improve the output of the LV so yes the Cardiologist is the one to decide. I was only making conversation on the RCA and damage !!
I already knew how much of my heart has been damaged % wise from a previous MRI scan, and that area is beyond repair. Non Viable are the words used !!
Its complicated stuff this Heart business, my ef is pretty reasonable at the low 40s but my heart doesn't work in synch top and bottom chambers that is, so blood Is slow to leave LOL. I had a Heart Attack in 1982 and didn't take so much s a aspirin for 30 odd years. I was a little short of breath so GP did an ECG and just said need to send this to Cardiology and that's when the saga started.
It's amazing what you pick up over a number of years !!
