Isolation : Just wanted to know if I... - British Heart Fou...
Isolation
Every man woman and child on the planet is currently at risk. Social isolation and extreme contact reduction will reduce that risk.
Survival initially depends on no/minimal contacts - commit to not getting it
If infected, individual outcomes will depend on the relative condition of your respiratory system, cardiology and your immune system.
Hence the greater danger to older people with existing conditions,
Ignorance, hesitancy, arrogance (it won't happen to me) and of course inaction, will also increase your personal risk.
Its unknown territory, but isolation holds the trump (sorry!) card, both individually and collectively.
Why would you not want to improve your chances of coming through this unscathed?
You are not at any greater risk than anyone else of CATCHING the virus. However you are at higher risk of complications if you do catch it.
But that still doesn't mean you should self isolate.
The government's advice is that someone like yourself should be very careful about social distancing, but social distancing isn't the same thing as self isolating. That difference is clearly spelt out on this excellent British Heart Foundation site,

Good luck!
