Corona Virus and High Risk persons
86 yrs old, Heart probs, COPD, 2 'large' aortic aneurysms (inoperable due to heart, kidney & pulmonary complications) - I guess that I may just be 'high risk'. Oh well, looks like a lock down at home for a lengthy period - and that becomes a difficulty as I live on my own; already out of basics like milk, bread etc etc.
One thing is for sure, there is no way whatever that I'm going to go into hospital. I reckon that may just be the worst place to be! So just tuck up with a good stock of books.
Good luck to everyone!
Hopefully you have a good neighbourhood so supplies can be bought round for you or friends /family.
There will organisations working throughout, what part of the world are you living in?
Anyway whatever.... I'm sure that you have lived throughout many events but a shortage of toilet roll now I bet you never saw that coming 😳.
Enjoy your book 📖❤️
Thanks Bulldog; East Staffordshire and a few friends that will, hopefully, help out - have told one of them to leave the shopping on the doorstep. By the way - best investment I ever made was a bidet (helps enormously with another condition (incontinence)! so shortage of toilet rolls not a crisis here.
Hi
No doubt there will be a list out.... Try not to worry and watching the news does not help.... The media are making the hysteria worse and people are bulk buying everything like its going to be a zombie apocalypse 😢tempted to lock myself away but I work for the NHS so will carry on until I feel its unsafe to do so. 👍
Worrying indeed , we are emigrating to Swansea . From South Africa ( have private medical aid ) won’t get in UK only NHS
Strandloper, when you arrive to the UK you should make registering at a GP surgery a first priority. Generally NHS GP care is provided at no charge to incomers and is payable at 'low-cost' (compared to the costs in other countries) for dental care and hospitalisation.
Best is to arrive with a comprehensive medical insurance policy in place for all members of the family. Even better to arrive with photocopies of your medical records to give to the GP surgery on registering.
Be sure to have several sets of those photocopied records, btw - you will need them.
Thanks , yes . It’s my wife and I ( retired) I am keeping private med aid from S.A ( allowed 3 months) plus both of us will be on NHS from registration. I have a report from all my Specialists and GP plus my records.
I'm also retired (as is my husband) - my small (small, sooooo small!) USA earned private pension pays my current private health insurance coverage. My husband is my second (I was widowed several years) and is on his more reasonably paid, lol, UK private pension, part of which pays his private coverage.
I can’t get private care in UK with my pre existing conditions
Why do you think you have to wait until it's too late
No testing until seriously I’ll !!
