Hello Paul, I cannot advise you medically but you must do what you think is best for yourself and your family and listen to advice from specialists. Stay strong and good luck.

Hi Paul, I'm 42 and just had avr with mechanical valve. I was at the cardiologist the other day and asked if I was high risk or not. He said before the surgery I would've been high risk but post surgery I'm not as everything is working perfectly and I don't have high blood pressure anymore. I have a young family and a son with a deletion on his 3rd chromosome with associated difficulties. I also worry about this virus and what it means to our welfare. Take care.
Me too. I’m 48 with 2 stents. I can be careful - but my daughter is 17 and obviously at school. That seems my biggest risk. I can be as careful as I want ...but feels like I’m certain to get it. Then it’s apparently 10% mortality rate. I’m telling myself that being 48 and generally fit might make that 5% or less. But never had those odds in front of me before.
