Worried
MINOCA stands for Myocardial infarction non obstructive coronary arteries. Which means you don’t need to worry about it since it’s simply a description of the type of heart attack that you had last year. And it’s good news that you don’t have obstructed arteries.
But still don't understand why I had heart attack also have lvdd
Do you have a lived experience of a MINOCA or one of the conditions that can cause one?
The research shows that a Myocardial Infarction non obstructive coronary arteries MINOCA is not harmless.
There are several possible causes of MINOCA, including a spontaneous coronary artery dissection, coronary vasospasms, microvascular dysfunction, a small piece of place breaking off or a blood clot blocking the coronary artery.
Microvascular dysfunction and coronary vasospasms are types of angina/ ischaemia non obstructive coronary arteries ANOCA/INOCA.
I live with vasospastic angina, a type of ANOCA/INOCA. My coronary arteries are not obstructed.
My coronary arteries go into transient constrictions reducing the blood supply to my heart.
I am at increased risk of a heart attack, stroke, developing heart failure and major adverse cardiac events.
I really don't know what's going on my cardiologist says I have lvdd and treating me for angina they say there not surevy I had my heart attack so none the wiser really 🤷♂️
Who suggested you may have had a MINOCA?
Maybe ask your Cardiologist to explain ?
There is sadly a lack of knowledge about heart attacks without blocked coronary arteries. However it's still a heart attack.
The underlying cause of your MINOCA does need investigating, so you can be given the appropriate treatment.
I was admitted to hospital over 12 years ago with a suspected heart attack, I was told incorrectly, I couldn't have angina or a heart attack because my coronary arteries are unobstructed.
I was later diagnosed with vasospastic angina. My coronary arteries remain unobstructed.
Thank u I was just going on the fact they said oh u had an heart attack then my heart doctor said I have lvdd then I may have minoca because pain is waking me when I sleep I'm so sick of worrying I'm gonna have another heart attack 💔
Maybe ask the Cardiologist to carryout some further tests, to determine whether microvascular or vasospastic angina maybe causing your symptoms.
The BH has this information about these types of angina non obstructive coronary arteries that can cause a MINOCA.

My Cardiologist says, because I am on the correct medication, I am less likely to have a heart attack.
I've actually not been going rehab for a while but know I need to so I am back on the 7th need to start feeling better about myself and healthier it's hard but ill get there
