Missed aspirin dose
First thing I did after my surgery when I was given all the meds to take was to ask what to do if I missed one. My doctor gave me a list with simple instructions. The worse situation is if you can't remember if you took one or not. My doctors advice was that doubling up could be very harmful so I should not risk that AND if I think i have missed one to not run any marathons that day!
Hello, I am on Bisoprolol and Apixaban. I was told if I missed one of my Apixaban in the 30 days before I wouldn't be allowed my Cardioversion.
So I took it seriously and made up a chart on the computer - date down the side Meds across the top. Printed out a month's worth (fits on one page). I also bought a pill box, one for twice a day, one week at a time. Put everything together with a pen in small plastic box.
Set up an alarm on my phone for twice a day. When the alarm goes off out comes the pill box and the chart with a pen.
Take the pill - tick it off, take the next pill - tick it off.
You can double check you have taken it by looking on the chart or triple check by checking if the space in the box is empty. To make this part work you must only ever fill it up when it is empty or you will confuse yourself.
The trouble is if you take meds everyday for a long time you can never be sure which time you are remembering.
I hope this helps and you come up with a system that works for you, just remember to be methodical and careful.
