I posted a few months ago about having a persistant cough which began immediately after having a cryo ablation. I have visited my GP four times, had two chest xrays and a course of antibiotics, but the cough still persists. Last week, three months after the ablation I went to see the consultant who arranged a ct scan but everything was clear on this. The consultant advised me that a cough is a common side effect of the ablation procedure and is usually short lived, but I seem to be the unlucky one! It seems I just have to put up with it and hope it eventually goes away.
The problem now of course is Corona virus which as we all know starts with a cough. I feel very uncomfortable when i go out into public places as i feel people are looking at me everytime i cough. It's got to the point where i am now avoiding social gatherings.
I have another GP appointment next week for an unrelated matter but the thought of sitting in the waiting room with a persistant cough is rather off putting, assuming they will let me in of course!
After my last GP consultation, I was referred to the respitarory clinic at my local hospital but this is not for another three weeks. But with Corona virus, who knows where we will be in three weeks.
