I have been taking it for a while now and have noticed nothing drastic from it. I was on another thinner before that so in all the years I can only say cuts take longer to stop bleeding!

And by longer I mean a few minutes, mind you have avoided any major injury!

Thanks Smokie is good to hear from someone who is taking it as the information leaflet lists all sorts of nasty side effects , which scares you to death .

Better to ask than worry. If you do internet search all the horror story's appear first. Sensation we can do without!

A doc I trust says to read up to 1 in 100 level for side effects. They have to list anything that people report 'in case'. Stated that wrist strain from opening box or risk of paper cut while opening box will appear soon!

Thanks Celtic it is very daunting when its all new . I didn't know I had AF so that was a shock then to be told I should be on Anticoagulants was very worrying to me which has caused more anxiety . So thank you for your reply .

I feel just the same. Have just been prescribed 30mgs of Edoxaban, After a 3rd episode of AF, in 6 years. You think it won’t happen again after a long time between episodes, so after the last time, 2 weeks before Xmas and then to be told you should be on anti coagulants made me anxious and I was put on a NHS well being course, which helped a bit. Have just got the tablets, but leaving them for a couple of weeks so I have some spare ones, in case there’s a problem getting them. Keep well.

Hi, I was on Warfarin for the first year and three months ago changed to Edoxaban. I certainly bleed and bruise less on it, no noticeable side effects. I always carry plasters in my bag just in case I knock myself.

The Cardiologist did tell me that NICE hadn’t yet approved it for use for my problem but he thought it was the best medication for me.

He’s the head Cardiologist at the hospital so I have to trust his knowledge.

Hubby has been on it for nearly 2 years with no ill effects. He was on rivaroxaban, 75mg Asprin and amiodorone following his CABG for about 8,weeks. He was then just on aspirin but had a small stroke after 10 days so was prescribed Edoxaban and has been fine with it.
