MichaelJH and I have received a personal message from someone saying they are student carrying out a study about how it feels to be a carer or being cared for.
It is an usual way to approach people to take part in a study and as we are unsure whether it has the approval of the BHF we suggest if you recieve a message.....be careful it may not be genuine.
I have asked the person to contact the BHF about this request.
It has been reported.

Strange request to come from a school of art? But if the school do social science courses it could just be a student trying to be inventive, if a bit naive, about getting participants for their dissertation. At work, I work for a medical research charity, we often get students asking us to share their request for study participants on our social media. We politely decline as we can't guarantee the quality of thier research.
Such requests are not uncommon BUT genuine enquiries will tell you who is supervising the research and a contact address/phone number for that person. It's a sensible precaution to follow those links up. The absence of such a link is suspect. But I do hope we can, wherever possible, co-operate with genuine researcher whose work might make life easier- even longer- for others in the future.
