As we march through the month of March, let’s continue our journey together. Whether you’re sipping a cup of tea, enjoying the early spring blooms, or simply taking a moment to breathe, know that our community is here for you. ❤️
We have another exciting Live and Ticking webinar coming up on Wednesday 27th March at 4pm and we would love for you to join. Hear from David, who was diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes in 2014, about his story in this special edition, as we partner with Diabetes UK.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions to our panel of experts from BHF and Diabetes UK and discover the BHF-funded research into ‘how diabetes affects the heart’. To sign-up of free, visit bhf.org.uk/liventicking.
Also, our 7th annual Heart Hero Awards are back for 2024 and we want to hear from you. Do you know an incredible fundraiser, young advocate, lifesaver, healthcare professional and outstanding supporter who go the extra mile for BHF? Nominate your Heart Hero by 30th April at bhf.org.uk/heartheroes.
Remember, you’re not alone. If you have questions, need support, or simply want to say hello, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re all part of this caring community.
Wishing you a heart-healthy and wonderful month ahead,
Luke from the BHF 😊

Had a nice productive day today getting a blood test over and done with this morning and they said ring next Friday at the earliest for the results!
I felt nice and relaxed when that was over and then called in at my new job with my dbs certificate they had requested and they said they will see me at 8am on 2 April for my induction shifts so thats another job done and dusted!
Back in 2021 I had a phone check up with the gp who had said about a blood test and it was a 6 week wait for one!
Thankfully this time it was only a weeks wait but last time it was a 3 week wait which is a bit much in my view as whilst you are waiting you get more and more anxious!
This is a good reminder of how things have started to return to normalish post C BUT its still not 100% I find the wait times ridiculous and just can't see the justification for 'no GP appoinments for 2 weeks' and 'tell the receptionist your life story publicly' appalling.
Huge congrats on the new job and hope test results are ok 👍🏽
In regards to the receptionist asking what the appointments for just give her a general idea to help with the booking or if it's private just make something up!
More than likely the blood test will be fine and with me with the initial gp appointment as it wasn't urgent only had to wait a week for it which wasn't too bad.
That was bad though having to have waited 6 weeks for a blood test but waiting a week I didn't mind so much!
I'm not sure if April's post has been put up, but you might remember I was doing a bit of crochet, well I've made a blanket, then a few weeks ago I started a shawl, I finished it this evening
I do forget to look on here now but yes I remember you were doing a shawl and it is beautiful you have really done a good job you should feel so proud lovely colors to x
I haven't looked or posted on this site for a while as felt it had been spoilt by all the people arguing and whingeing about what was acceptable on the main forum. Sad to see it is still happening when so many seriously ill people are making a massive effort to think positively and not complain about their conditions.
