ectopic beats

Hi everyone, looking for some advice. While it is said that heart palpitations and ectopic beats are harmless, I am slightly worried. I have had ectopic beats every day all day long for the last 3 weeks. Literally having 20plus every hour. It also takes my breath away a little. What do you think? I had a quadruple heart by pass in 2012.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I always have heart palpitations every single day for about the past 6 months it used to really worry me and I have no idea what set them off I’ve been told there harmless too and I see to cardiologist for tests in April... i really understand how you feel and I find sometimes they can take over your life when you other think about them all I can say is maybe go and see your doctor about them unless your under cardiologist an try not to stress xx

Hi Mark

Have you had a Holter Monitor to record your Heart Beats over 24 hours.

I had a really bad bout of Ectopic Beats one every other beat and it was making me very Breathless, Heart Nurse sent me to A & E after 24 hours it all settled down no treatment was requited just bed rest. My Heart Nurse and Cardiologist both dismiss anxiety as I am very relaxed over my condition !!

I have been through Heart Attack, By Pass surgery, Stents, and this has resulted in Heart Failure. Like you I have been told Ectopic Beats are harmless and Ihave lived with them for years !!!

I have them most days too. I find it's worse at night, nothing to take my mind off them I suppose. I usually fall asleep through exhaustion, I always wake up in the morning. I'm told by fellow sufferers that eventually I'll just ignore them, can't wait for that day.

Hi i have had ectopic beats everyday for the last 3 years, sometimes i have bouts where they are continuous mainly at night, them seem to ease when i get up and are busy. i don't get breathless and can walk steep hills with no problems, have just started 5mg of Bisoprolol i am hoping these will stop them. i think about them all the time even when i don't have them for a few hours. I to cannot wait for a day when they are not in my mind. My Doctor assures me they won't harm me and i was going to see a cardiologist but when she read my notes decided i didn't need to be seen as they were not dangerous.

If I were in your shoes I would seek medical advice having had a quadruple bye pass, I would keep badgering them until you get it sorted to your self peace of mind. good luck.
