Hi all I have been taking Entresto high dose 97/103 for low EF and LBBB for 3 months now and have been advised to take the Eplerenone as well as it is supposed to help the heart muscle. A lot of the comments online seem to be negative. Does anyone else have experiences of this drug and does it help at all? what side effects do other folks have? I have no oedema and therefore do not require a diuretic at this stage.
Thank you

I see you are on a high dose of Entresto currently I am on 49/51 twice a day going to 97/ 103 as soon as my Heart Nurse comes back to work after being on the sick !!!
I have been taking 25mg Eplerenone for a couple of years from what I know it helps control Blood Pressure and is a Mild Diuretic. I was switched from Spirolactone after some problem with boobs ( I am a Male )
I have no problems with Eplerenone or with Entresto other Meds are Aspirin 75mg, Bisoprolol 7.5mg Pravastatin 10mg and Omeprazole 20mg
My EF is low 40s and like you have an element of LBBB
If you don't mind how long have you had HF and what's your EF My only symptom is Breathless when doing some pretty routine work and Low Blood pressure.
I have had heart failure since May 2018 following a stomach bug when the Lbbb was discovered as well. My EF was 37% I was on ramipril for a year but that did not seem to work as my ef returned to 37 having increased to 55%. I am glad you have no side effects from the Eplerenone. Has your EF improved.? I am due another echo in a month or so. This will be number 5 in less than. 2 years! I have no side effects from the Entresto either.
Is the reason for coming off entresto the Alzheimer Issue?? I never got to ask my Heart Nurse she has been off sick !! so it's 6 months since I have seen anyone. Have appointment for 5th Match and I will ask then.
Regards
I will ask on the Pumping Marvellous site which is an HF forum and see if anyone has information. Done
My husband may be taking Entresto soon, it's been a bit of a wonder drug for heart failure, If you can tolerate it. Can I ask why you want to come off it?
It's a good evaluation but at almost 73 I think I will take my chance Alzhiemers V Heart Failure at least with Alzheimers you may not even be aware your dying!!! Not sure if I should be LOL or Breaking Down and Crying !!! Crazy World We Live In LOL
I do agree, most meds are a trade off in one way or another. I'll read the link, talk it through with Kevin & then we'll discuss it with his cardiologist.
Fortunately there's not history of alzheimers I'm his family so that may be a plus.
