Hey there, this is the first time I've actually spoken out to others or tried anything like this... here goes! I'm only 27, by the way!
4 years ago I had open heart surgery and replaced my aortic valve! Felt completely fine and asymptomatic before, and after. About two years ago I had a pulmonary embolism, and a year ago I had endocarditis. Needless to say, I'm pretty anxious.
However, the last year or so I've developed these episodes of arrhythmia. Summer of 2018, I could run 8 miles a day. Now, the second I start to exercise I have awful palpitations and a crushing sensation in my left arm and jaw. It's so unpredictable, I can go a month without any palpitations and then suddenly have an episode lasting a week so awful I'm bedridden. They've started me on Nadolol, which isn't helping.
The worst part? They put me on a stress test and a heart monitor and both times my heart acted completely normal! They tell me my heart looks fantastic. Then during these episodes it's so painful, I can hardly breathe. My heart will flutter every other beat until I sit down.
I'm just at the end of my rope here and wondering if anyone is going through anything similar. I'm 27 and just want a normal life. I'm forcing myself to go out and run 2 miles a day despite the pain wondering if I can condition myself to not have these palpitations anymore. It's even doubly frustrating because a little over a year ago I was running miles daily!
