Hi Yasyass. Can I ask why you’re stopping?

Due to some hormonal problem I stopped it but didn’t realize it was over a week until today then I started to take it again since I started antibiotics I forgot the asprin dose I feel so scared and even bought myself a diary to write the days and times I take my meds

So you’ve accidentally stopped without direction from your doctor? I’d just restart them again at the daily dose you’ve been given. You could call the BHF nurses or ring your pharmacist but I don’t think it will have any impact.

No problem. Aspirin takes about 10 days to fully clear your system so you weren’t back to pre aspirin levels in terms of clotting ability.

Thank you for your replies it’s the googling info that made me worry out of curiosity if asprin is supposed to help why if in emergency even if tk daily dose asprin they have to increase it to 375mg

They say to have a larger dose if you’re having a heart attack and in an emergency to break down any clots that are forming.

I take Aspirin every morning, also on Bisoprolol, and Prednisolone 2.5 mgs daily, but my stomach is protected by Omeprozole 20mgs also every morning.

I have a stent in one CA, and although I’ve had recent open heart surgery, cardiologist is adamant I must not stop the Aspirin.

So are you not taking Aspirin now?

I guess stents require you to have it?

Best wishes.
