Had HA 7 weeks ago. Three stents fitted and all good although sleep has been a bit rubbish. Doctor doubled my Ramipril from 2.5 to 5.0 last Friday and I've been itching all over ever since. I take Ramipril, Soluble asprin 75mg, Bisoprolol, Brilique (morning and night) Atorvastatin (Night)

Hi Bluenile. Great to hear you’re progressing well. I was there over 3 years ago but with one stent. You’ll get used to the meds in the end and I ended up sleeping well (although not so great since I went back to work after Christmas... but then I think that has more to do with work than anything else! Itching is a known side effect of Ramipril. If it happened since you increased maybe talk to your pharmacist and see if you can take an anti histamine (recommended on the NHS website). Good luck.

Hi Bluenile - itching and hives can be a side effect of atorvastatin (though not common see attached link)mayoclinic.org/drugs-supple... but it's maybe something to bear in mind if it doesn't improve. I think you should discuss with GP if it is not clearing up as itching can be a sign that your liver function is not quite right and this can be checked by blood test. Regards

Hi Bluenile. I've just been put on a low dose (1.25) of Ramipril to go alongside my BP tablet Cardioplen.

I was itching like mad last night. Might follow NorthantsSteve's advice and take an antihistamine! That'll be 9 tablets I'll take each day!!!

Good luck to you xxxx

Ok not Ramapril! I have statin induced Hepatitis. This was the first time my bloods had been checked since I left hospital and I had been feeling wretched. At least I know now. Regular blood tests and no more atorvastatin and hopefully liver function will come back quite quickly. Doctor talked about later on trying me with a low dose of a different station when I'm mended.
