Echocardiogram
After my heart attack last march done all cardio rehab and was champion. I was playing golf after 5 week I had 4 stents fitted
About 3 month ago suddenly started getting out of breath very quickly
Just walking up stairs had echocardio which showed result above
Dr has also now says may be getting out of breath due to the Ticagrelor which if keeps up will change to Clopidogrel so will have to wait and see
Hi Judy. Re EF as TWU says over 55% is normal. But please bear in mind that the ideal isn’t 100%. The fraction refers to the amount of blood that’s pushed around the body from the left ventricle in each cycle. Basically you don’t want to push all the blood out! 50% is classed as the middle of the ‘mild’ range.
In terms of the LV (left venticular) measurement (and I may be getting this wrong as the table I’m looking at refers to internal diameter in diastole (cm) or LV end diastolic volume (ml). But not LV end diastole in cm). Assuming this refers to LV Internal Diameter in diastole (for women) normal = 3.9-5.3, mild = 5.4-5.7, moderate = 5.8-6.1 and severe is 6.2 and over. So if that’s right - you’re on the very bottom of moderate and verging on mild.
If you’re interested this is the table I was looking at. bhf.org.uk/-/media/files/pu...
Hope you get it sorted. I’m not a medical person - but if my reading of the table is right then a summary of mild dysfunction would fit. Sounds like your doctor is on the case. Hope you get back to your golf soon.
