I absolutely love reframing as an exercise in positivity and this meme is a cracker!

We can àll learn from being more Helpful and considerate. We all make mistakes and get slightly late. Hope you have a Happy New Year. Brian

How very woke of you. Yawn

Really, that 'reply' was necessary, how exactly?

"Woke" is listed as a new word for 2019 meaning being aware of social and cultural issues. It is of Afro-Carribean origin and does not seem relevant in this context!

I woke up on seeing it! 😀

This is a health forum not whether we say sorry or thank you. In my opiniom its more polite to say sorry than saying thank you for accepting me

Polite? Sorry, but that scornful 'How very woke of you. Yawn' is about as far from polite as it gets. So please don't go all passive-aggressive claiming tips on phrasing things is inappropriate and you're being more polite by constantly apologising (which after that scornful comment, I doubt is something you do much of).

This site is a forum that has become a close-knit community of people living with heart problems supporting one another in many different ways on many different levels - including through humour and hints at getting through each day as best as is possible.

Dunno about you, H&K, but I get tired of constantly apologising for the disadvantages and inconveniences my health creates for my near-and-dear. I have had Rheumatic Heart Syndrome for over 50 years, and now have a few other heart problems - I've been apologising for decades. Getting some tips on better ways of recognising other people's patience with my conditions is quite helpful and quite welcome.

Scorn and derision have no place here - new ways to cope with all the challenges our heart conditions bring on have every place here.

Well said Sunnie, couldn't see why someone felt the need to be so negative on a post that was promoting positivity.

Probably had a wretched Christmas - might have had to listen to a 'must have' relative bang on about all the social injustice in the world today whilst gobbling down a Christmas Lunch the relative didn't even bother to offer to bring the Pudding to. I know that sort of 'dinner guest' puts my mood on 'snark' every time:)

Yes, perhaps their Christmas wasn't the bestest!!

I'm going out to dinner today, I'm taking a box of chocolates with me...unwanted Christmas present which I will own up to!! 😂

Ps: hope yours was a good one

We 're-gifted' three bottles of red wines (sniffle, my favs - St Emilion merlots and a Grand Cru, sniffle). Thank-goodness for Boxing Day Brunches and Late Suppers is all I can say for gifts I'd love to have kept and consumed but knew better than. (sniffle)

Have reported you. I think your post was overly offensive.

I would rather someone thanked me than apologised if I have helped. And I would rather thank someone when they have helped me. But sometimes a “sorry” seems right.

You can test if you are "Woke" here -

I love these quizzes, sometimes the questions are laughably so slanted it's impossible to get a real take on attitude and then others are so spot-on it's a little disturbing. Your linked quiz (US-centric but easy to answer as we face the same issues here) is written by a 'woke' pollster but appears to be rather accurate at the same time. Before answering the questions I read them through to get a feel for any bias - there definitely is one but it is an accurate assessment tool.

As expected answering honestly I've been tagged by this quiz as 'a traditionalist'. The 'reveal' was written in a way to make me feel 'wrong' for being a traditionalist, btw, also an expected result.

Oh dear I am a traditionalist as well. Must be an age thing! 😀

I did try to set up a Poll for results but cannot get it to work! ☹️

In my father's day to be a traditionalist I would have had to wear a tweed jacket, smoked a pipe and asked "Landlord, a half of your best bitter please?".

If one reported oneself it could be classed as recursive? 😁
