OT - Had to Laugh

I got a copy of the letter to my GP following a recent diabetes review. It said I had a weak pulse in the right foot but no detectable pulse in the left foot. In fact there hasn't even been a detectable foot for nearly a year. Or is there a phantom pulse to complement the phantom pain?! 🤔👻🤣

OK, that made me laugh...and wince. How did they miss the BKA?

It was mentioned in the letter. I think it really is just a matter of dictating a letter into a standard format.

Oh Michael the fact you can laugh at this is inspiring! I did chuckle BUT doesn't do much for faith in the NHS 🤦🏽‍♀️ Sorry to hear the phantom pain is ongoing too 😔

Risky! Friend of a friend forgot and stepped out of bed to go to the smallest room, stepped forward and ended up in A&E. That was not funny.

Unfortunately still bogged down in same issues; housing and stump wound! Otherwise OK...

Well Michael that did make me think about when the locum gp was going to send my Mother for a chest xray, as they couldn't hear anything from her lung on one side. My Mother told them, they wouldn't as she only had the one lung. Glad to hear you can laugh about it. Hope you are doing ok.

Brilliant! Not the phantom pain, that sounds awful. But that did make me laugh. We’ve all had information that doesn’t quite add up, but that’s got to be right up there! Best example so far. Glad you could see the funny side and shared. Laughter is the best medicine. Hope you have a good day xx

You have made my day and I guessed you were in the UK the same as me they are hopeless at times.

😂😂!! Thank you Michael. Your sense of humour, despite all you're going through/gone through is incredible.I've just had a letter from the diabetic clinic telling me I have kidney failure. When calling to speak to the consultant about a plan of action, he just asked me what I was talking about. Apparently my kidneys couldn't be in better shape!! He just said to ignore the letter. I asked whether I could ceremoniously shred the thing and his answer was "You might as well. It looks like there's been a bit of a clerical error!!!" Duh!!!!

All the very best. Jan xxxx

That’s unbelievable, you must have been worried for however long it took to speak to your consultant. When we have I’ll health we had better have a sense of humour or we are doubly in trouble 😂
