Hi everyone, I new to the site as only had a heart attack and bypass op Sept / Oct this year.
Before my triple bypass I was in the process of having a full sleeve tattoo.
Since the op I have been put on aspirin and clopidogrel for blood thinning / antiplatelets.
Can i continue with the tattoo if I am on this medication or will the meds cause me to blled too much.
Hi Dougie. I’d talk to my Dic first. I expect the tattooist won’t want to risk it as the Clopidogrel and Aspirin will stop your blood clotting and you won’t stop bleeding for a while. I had shaving cuts that have gone on for most of the day when I was on anti platelet therapy. You might have to wait for a year to pass when they usually stop the Clop.

Hi there, I'm on Clopidogril and have had two tattoos done, both without issues. Ok, they weren't sleeves, but i had no issues.
Obviously I'd get medical advise first, but this is my insight into it.
Hi, should be fine as long as your tattooist is happy to work on you. My consultant said it was ok, but might bleed more than normal. I was on aspirin,Clopidogre,ramipril, bisoprolo and a couple of others. I had a two day sitting 17 hours and was ok, just a bit sore. Then 3 more sittings. Make sure you do the aftercare tho.
