Yasyass, my EF was lower on diagnosis (18%), but last scan was 59% after 18 months.

My normal has changed, but my life is good. We’re all different, and react differently to the drugs. Most need to change diet and lifestyle, I was fit before my ha, and the HF has meant I train and exercise differently.

Have a look at the Pumping Marvellous website, it is specific to heart failure patients, and is run by people with Hf. There is a closed Facebook group which is very informative and supportive,

Go well

Gary

Yes things can get worse ...but they can also stay the same for years but for them to stay the same and not worsen you obviously need some lifestyle changes so follow dietary advice re salt being overweight , exercise no smoking ,reduce stress and try and avoid infections such as flu etc ,if you havent received information on the above topics why not ask for an appointment to see a nurse specialist who deals with cardiac patients or speak to the nurse at your GP surgery to get you information .

Mine started 3 yrs ago at 17. 3 yrs on its 43 and I’ve been discharged from hospital care to GP.

Take your tablets, follow the healthy food plan and once you are not so tired get some daily exercise.

I had to give up salt initially and then my sodium levels went so low was told to have what I wanted. I don’t add salt to me food at the table as I don’t like the taste, but do add it to cooking. My husband was a heavy smoker (vapes now) and he has always had a lot of salt so he found it v hard to have no salt in cooking.

You don’t have to be a gym bunny walking will do!

Do you have the BHF large ring binder on HF? Huge help and was my HF bible in the early days. Still look at it quite regularly. It reminds me to ensure I add certain items to my diet. Not to mention exercise! Walking will do. If you’ve got past the permanently exhausted stage.
