I recently attended health Forum where researchers from Melbourne University and Victoria University attended..they have been running research in collaboration to see if taurine helps with artheclorosis and patients with HF . Tested on animals and seen significant improvement after taurine supplements was given . They also saying in Japan taurine is prescribed for HF patients. Has anyone been using Taurine? And seen any improvement in overall heart function.

HF- Taurine miracle
Hi Sodp, I was interested by your post so did a bit of Google reading. What you say appears to be true, but has been known for a long time, so I'm curious as to why it isn't used more widely.
I found this, it does say taurine should only be used short term, 3 months to a year, and it can interact with existing medication by lowering the BP too much. Interesting though, have a read.

Thanks Wooodsie yes very interesting, The researchers were saying first paper was approved and cited by US heart foundation, they also saw very low CVD in Japan due to the amount of seafood they consumed. There was significant improvement in artheclorosis once they started giving same rabbits within 4 weeks. They researchers themselves start taking taurine 6 gram / per day. Very convincing, I have started taking 1 gram per day to start with and stop at 1.5gm as I occasionally eat seafoods. Hopefully that will help. I am.on bisoprolol and perindroprill and my BP is very low in 102/60 and HR low 50s. But haven't had any issue with BP yet ..still same as use to be.
Thanks for a link
as well as Wooodsie's article you might want to skim through some of this: mdpi.com/2072-6643/12/9/2847
More reading, thanks Fishhonabike too. Where are you getting your Taurine from Sodp?
I'm already taking omega 3 daily, and thought it may be in there as fish is a good source. I have looked at combined sources, but no luck.
Wooodsie I don't know if fish oil would have taurine, all energy drink do contain taurine but it has lots of sugar and caffeine. Based on researcher only taurine can be found in seafoods, and chicken thigh or legs. Otherwise have to get it from the taurine supplements. It is amino acid so omega may not have that. I only take coq10 and now added taurine as it was very convincing. I used to take magnesium but now dropped as I get plenty from foods, excess is not useful. I got my Taurine from amazon well known brand 'now' . But you can chat to your pharmacist and see which one is good one and if it interacts with any of your medicine.
I've been taking it for about 3 weeks...not sure if I'm taking enough?
I am only taking 1gm to start with pan to increase to 1.5gm. I think recommended was around 3gm. How much are you taking? Probably depend on how much you Getting from a diet, any side effects or improvement you've noticed. I have only started few days ago
I feel much improved generally and the cayenne pepper is so effective too.
I have been adding cayenne pepper iny good hopefully will help.
Absolutely..my young GP confirmed it to be a natural vaso dilator....
