Hi, I'm new to the forum. I had a heart attack on 8th September and had three stents fitted. I then had to go back for a planed 4th stent to be fitted last Monday. All seemed to be going well until last night when I had trouble sleeping and my heart was pounding. I also had a few twinges and one pain like it might be all happening again. I sat up for a while and felt a little better then slept through until this morning. I still feel very delicate though. Is it normal to experience problems like this or should I be contacting someone? Thoughts?

Nervous after heart attack and stents
Hi whiteheads
I'm 47 and had my HA on 29th August and had stent fitted and am just waiting for my 2nd stent. I also have weird aches etc and have been reassured they are normal, however, I had a pain and called ambulance. They were really good and took me to hospital to be throughly checked over, so if in doubt call them.
Good luck and it's early days so we are learning!
Thanks Debee28 Just woke up with chest pains. GTS spray seems to have stopped it but am very nervous. When I had a balloon fitted last week (in addition to the 3 stents when I had the heart attack 4 weeks ago) the consultant said my heart is now fine but I’m not convinced. Don’t want to cry wolf but also don’t want to take any risks. Quite a dilemma! People say the pains now and then are ‘normal’ but I wonder at what point I should panic.
I discussed this with the paramedic yesterday, I said I have aches in my chest which come and go, if I'm doing anything active they come. I always go sit down for a while. He said it's normal to have these. He also said that If you have pain in chest, along with sweating that's when you should use the spray.
I only used mine for first time yesterday as was too scared before, it didn't do anything and he said it won't if the pain is not to do with your heart.
If in doubt call them out! Another tip he said was to ask for a copy of your ECG so medical staff can compare.
Hi - had pain in the night last night and the spray didn’t cut it. It got worse at about 5am so I reluctantly called 999. They said I did the right thing. So I’m back in the Royal Free and they say I have not had another heart attack but they can see something on my ECG. So I’ve been kept in on a monitor overnight and the consultant will see me in the morning with a view to another angiogram to see what’s wrong. Hope you are ok.
Glad you called for help! You are so in the right place and they can sort you out. Hope you are okay and do let me know how u get on.
I'm fine, blood tests all ok and feel reasurred.
Just had the angiogram and all went well. They ‘pressure washed’ the arteries and cleared some debris and they say all should now be good. I can probably go home tonight. Glad to hear things are ok with you. Thanks for your support and encouragement. Happy to do the same for you if you need it. Regards.
Hi, like yourself I had a heart attack 3wks ago due to a blood clot & I also experience anxiety, I have been told it is very normal after such a trauma, please continue to stay strong & positive.
