Oh cmon Frank you must remember Jif, it was a household cleaning product!! You obviously didn't do enough cleaning when you were younger!! Jif became Cif!!π
When I worked in Brussels it was sold as Vim, but not Vim as you know it!
Talking of brands there is a limited edition Snickers coming out called Marathon!
I remember being so upset when they changed the name, I almost didn't eat it again. Snickers I mean, not Cif βΊ I remember Vim, that was a real scourer. Did I miss - remember the jif/Cif?
Vim in Brussels was Jif in UK...
Possibly all gone - Morrisons have limited the number you can buy after someone bought Β£100 worth of them! I assume they plan to hoard them for a little while and then put them on eBay.
Well that's ruined my evening, I didn't even know they were already being sold!
For 12 weeks apparently, but it doesn't look like they'll make it!
I'm just off to the shops!
You could compensate with the 1lb Snickers!
I'd definitely take that challenge!
Cor, it will be a KFC one next!
Oh noooo it won't!
I remember Vim a dry powder but Jif I do remember I Didn't understand why the name would offend ?
No idea why it would offend. Here's tonight most useless fact, the artist Frances Bacon used Vim as a substitute for toothpaste! π±
The reason that Cif offended at the time of the change is that itβs a shortened version of syphilis. I think most folk were miffed that British named products were changed for the European market instead of them taking on our product names.
I'm up for that one! Although I'm not sure my teeth are...
I'm laughing as I read this thread. Other than the snickers bar I have no idea what you guys are talking about lol
We do have jif peanut butter. Do you guys have that??
I've never heard of Jif peanut butter but it sounds versatile, cleaning your teeth whilst eating something tasty sounds good to me π
Lol, it's so funny how things are so different. We have so much in common and can speak heart disease. Yet, I can't grasp onto your conversation a lot of times.
This one was great. I was so glad to see the snickers bar that I had to comment.
Love a snicker bar, my all time favourite chocolate bar.
I've a newly discovered American family, I need an interpretor at times to know what they're saying. Mind you I also used to need an interpretor to understand my Scottish granny's accent, beautiful though it was.
I will have to get a guide book to follow your day to day discussion.
