VISIBLE VEIN AND ARTERY SIZE

Prior to my HA and subsequent bypass surgery last June whenever I went to the doctors for a blood test they would have some difficulty in accessing a vein. However, since the surgery I have noticed that all veins and arteries just below the skin are now quite visible (well not all of them!) and can access a pulse without difficulty. I put this down to my previous life when I smoked (five years ago gave up) and post CABG now that the plumbing has been refurbished. To be so significantly different just shows the damage that smoking can have on ones system. Has anyone else noticed this change in the plumbing?

Same for me ticking-ticker. Have never smoked but I put it down to losing a few pounds, exercise and the meds that will dilate arteries etc. It’s an added bonus when having blood taken 😄.
