Ranitidine and cyclizine together

Hello there. I need some advice. I’ve just been with my partner for an emergency appointment - he was feeling extremely unwell - bloating, back pain / indigestion type feeling and feeling very nauseous. To people who haven’t had a heart trauma (February 2018 small blockage in small peripheral artery - no stents discharged with usual battery of drugs) this is just bloating and indigestion - for my partner it is life threatening and anxiety etc kicks in. Normally we deal with it but today symptoms are so severe even I couldn’t ‘call it’ because his only symptom when he had his heart attack was mild indigestion for which dr suggested A&E to be in the safe side. Anyway- the dr just now has sent him away with Ranitidine and cyclizine. Tontry for two weeks. It was a locum under pressure so I never got to ask if he was sure there were no contraindications with bisopropol, ramipril, clopidogrel and atorvastatin is metfirmin for type 2 diabetes. Can anyone help me - is it ok for him to start taking them? Sorry this is so long. Thank you

Pharmacists can often be a source of valuable advice in this kind of situation. If they have concerns they will send you back to the GP.

By now (19 hours since you posted your question) you've probably got the answers you need to use these medications confidently - I hope :) If you haven't had a chance to talk to the chemist, have you tried ringing the GP practice nurse, or if he has one, the cardiac nurse? I've been helped several times by those sources. Also helpful from what I read here on the BHF HU pages are the BHF nurses (contact information for them is on the BHF website). I've never needed to use them but everyone here who has describes them as exceptional in every way, quite helpful and informative.

Can you update for the benefit of other readers - I'm fairly new (since June 2019) and have been grateful to read posts, replies, and discussion here.

For me, when something new is added I like reading and re-reading the package leaflets, it is a help working out if meds contraindicate one another when I forget to ask - I find I learn something more about each medication every time I re-read those leaflets.
