If you have not seen your GP or cardiologist in the past six months you need to request a medication review. Typically Ticagrelor may be stopped after a year and statins reduced if cholesterol is well within range. Do not do this off your own back as you may be atypical!

I have just been to my GP for a med update after a year of having stent fitted. Now down to just Clopidogrel 75mg, Amlodipine 5mg and Astorvastain 20mg.

Hi rakeman. Did they say why they are keeping you on the Clopidagrel? I thought that, like the Ticagrelor that I was on, most people stop a year after the stent.

Clopidogrel is very similar to Aspirin, as I had a minor TIA (Stroke) two years ago my consultant said that Clopidogrel was better for me than Aspirin. So I take Clopidogrel instead of Aspirin.
