So I went to Spain, for the sun and the walking up a mountain, Came back got bored, went to Thailand for three weeks, fabulous country and wonderful islands, but man, Bangkok is just extreme, both heat and humidity, the torrential rain, temples, to the never ending traffic.
I am now planning to do winter in Spain, have a small trip out there end of September, hunting for a place to, probably, live permanently. Regulars will know we already have a place there but decided to gift this to the kids, hopefully they will enjoy it for the future.
Work wise, well I have been far to busy enjoying the freedom of not working, had a few offers of consulting in the same line of business, may or may not take up some of these whilst living abroad. Brexit I hear you cry, well, fatalistic I am, what will be, will be. I still intend to take part in this wonderful forum and wish each and everyone of you good health and fortune

Mark, lovely to hear you are so upbeat and leading such a exciting life. You must be so proud of yourself, and a inspiration to us all. Live long and prosper.!!! Love Sue x
Thanks for the update Mark. Think I will avoid Bangkok as I found last month's heatwave more than enough! Hope it all works out well and Brexit issues have minimal effect.
We live in Spain now, highly recommend it! Have a icd that was fitted and working eventually after a few hiccups,in England last December. Will change completely to the Spanish health system very soon.
We lived in Spain for 12 years until 3 years & found the Spanish Health service to be excellent. We are pensioners so had no problem joining the health system there. Learning Spanish would also be helpful, the Spanish always appreciate it even if you make mistakes.
May be calling on you as well! My Spanish is average, but I am having lessons every week as I know I will need more than knowing how to order food and drinks and reserve a table
I know I am late in reading this but I’m finding it interesting as I will be 60 next month and keep thinking how lovely it would be to spend the winter months somewhere a bit warmer. Haven’t done anything about it yet but it’s at the back of my mind.
It’s wonderful that you’ve already started doing something about it! 👍🌷
