I am only 16 years old, and recently I've been experiencing chest pain and breathlessness. The breathlessness has been going on for a while, and my doctors thought it was my asthma, but after a lot of new medicine, it still hasn't gotten better. Now that I'm beginning to experience chest pain, I'm extremely scared that it could be something with my heart. I have a doctors appointment next week, but I'm scared something is gonna happen before that.
I have been living a normal lifestyle - I eat healthy, exercise sometimes, and I am not overweight.

It must so frightening feeling chest pain and not knowing why.
Are you able to talk to anybody close to you about this?
As you are not yet 18 I really suggest you discuss your fears and anxiety with your parents.
There are lots of different reasons why you may be feeling your chest pain and breathlessness. None of us are able to tell you why that's for your doctor to decide.
It is great that you have an appointment with your GP and hopefully they will listen to your concerns.
Pethaps ring the BHF helpline and talk to one of the nurses they are there to help.
Hi, if you try the NHS helpline they might help. When I suffered chest pains I rang them and they advised me to go to the hospital. They even contacted the hospital who were waiting for me and “fast tracked” me through the system.
I know it must be quite worrying and if your symptoms continue it would be best to go to a & e. Discuss it with your parents. I wish you well and hope to read a future post telling us how you got on.
