Complex stenting

Hi

Has anyone on this forum had complex stents done which means 4x stents at the main Y branch at the lad. Normally these 3 blockages is repaired by doing bypass surgery. They done stents on me and I've had nothing but issues. I would just like to know if anyone out there has had the same procedure as me and if it worked out ok or not.

Hi

I had 3 stents to proximal LAD but not sure how they are positioned. I also had one stent to RCA all done at the same time following a heart attack. I had a lot of issues with chest pressure, burning etc afterwards which seem to have improved but docs think those symptoms were more gastro related. What were your issues?

Hi Andie

My issues are tight chest constantly feeling nausea and weak legs and light headed I had the stents done when I had HA in November 2017 but always had a pain in the chest.

I finally had another angiagram in March where they found one of the stents had failed so they put another stent inside of it since then I have had all these problems so much so I can't work. The cardiologist has said that it all looks fine tho🤔 but you know your own body and I know something ain't right.

How are you feeling now and how long ago did you have it done

Hi Brady

I'm feeling a lot better now but still get times when I feel tight chested but it isn't affected by exercise so I think it can't be circulatory otherwise it would worsen. I totally share your frustration though as I've only had this since the stents nearly two yrs ago. I've also felt breathless but from the abdomen like my diaphragm won't expand properly but docs don't think this is heart related. Some days I don't get this. I do feel the trauma causes strange residual symptoms even though I didn't want to admit to it at first. If you feel worse on exertion that's the biggest reason to get further tests but even anxiety or heartburn pain can worsen with exercise so it's not necessarily angina. Keep up the good work with diet and exercise and remember the body is in a constant state of healing. You won't always feel the same. Can I just ask, when your stent failed what did that feel like and was it different from what you feel now?

Hi Andie

I just had a constant pain in the chest that's any that did another angiagram after a year after it was put in they then told me stent had failed. That pain has gone now but I'm in more discomfort now than before. Hope you don't have anymore trouble.

I had daily burning pain in chest which didn't have any apparent cause but it has slowly abated mostly. I'm sorry to hear you've had a hard time of things it doesn't feel like it now but things never stay the same, you won't always feel like this. Keep on at the doctors but please keep an open mind as the stress can make any symptoms feel ten times worse believe me. Hang on to the fact the cardiologist says your arteries now look fine. That is one positive. You will get answers keep pushing.

A lady in my rehab group had three stents there. She was offered a choice of bypass or these stents. When asking how long the stents would last she was told 20 years so, as she was 78, she said she would have the stents. She said she felt fine with them.

Thanks Maisie

It's nice to hear that it works on some people. I was thinking I was the only one that had it done.

I’ve just had this done. Flipping long time on angio table! I’d be interested to know what issues you’ve had since. Have you adopted all the diet/lifestyle changes etc? I had an RCA STEMI in April and they discovered more mischief in the LAD, main stem and into the artery down through and into a branch. They did this as some of it wasn’t suitable for CABG, and they wanted to go in the least invasive way. That was thurs afternoon and I’m looking forward to finally getting back to normal and being able to exercise.

Hi

Yes they actually stented the branch on me it was 11pm on a Saturday night when I had it do he did say at one point I think bypass is needed which you don't want to hear I was only 47.

Yes lots of lifestyle changes I have no cheese anymore or red meat or beer 😭. I now eat breakfast lunch and dinner now before HA I only use to have dinner whenever I got home from work. I try to walk at least 30mins a day but finding all difficult at the moment because of legs feeling weak and the nausea makes it hard. These have only been like this since March. I hope your feeling well👍and it works for you 🤞I just wish I they done the bypass instead I might not have had all these issues.

I had 2 heart attacks and, I have 7 stents and some are right on a branch, I don't know if was luck or surgeon skill, but they managed to sort me and unblock everything without having to resort to a bypass. I was wide awake on the table for record amount of time, which was real scary, especially when I had rupture and they had to repair that quick, I thought It was time to kiss my ass goodbye, but I got through it, and have fully recovered, I still get heart / muscle ache now then and that's 11 months later, small price to pay for still being alive to tell the tale. Most of my aches are med related, but that's just the way it is, plus a change of life style, Cardio keep fit every week, gym 1 once a week and swim when I get time. I was 40 plus a day smoker for over 40 years, I'm now almost 63. Ramipril, bisoprolol, clopidogrel, astrovastine, aspirin twice a day. loving life to the full again.
