Heart scan

Still waiting for my ecg results was referred urgent by GP but triage consultant apparently said not urgent appt for nov sent That made me feel more relaxed but today I got a letter asking me to go for a heart scan on the 22nd August made me feel very very anxious xxx

I suspect you;ve been given a cancellation - it's holiday time and more people ring in to cancel their appointments. The coordinators then move people around to fill the gaps. I have been waiting for a scan for over five months so I am pea green with envy you have got an appointment. My observation is it is pretty random who is allocated to any suddenly available appointment - try not to dwell on it but be glad it has been organised. If it is urgent they would have you in within three days... best wishes

sorry should have also said I was told it is pretty common for consultant to order a scan after an echo so they get "a good view of the heart" before they discuss results with you.

Thank you feel better already I know at 72 I have an ageing heart but being so fit it’s come has a shock to me can I ask what symptoms are you having to be under a cardiac consultant please xxx

We've had this happen, my husbands appt got cancelled. Was told would have to wait a few months for another appt, but got a phone call from the hospital a few days later saying appt had been made for the following week. It definitely wasn't an urgent referral, so obviously we picked up a cancelled appt. Try not to worry too much, think of it as the sooner the better.
