Could anyone tell me how urgent would an ICD implant procedure be and a Cardiac CT scan. I have now waited 4 months since seeing Consultant for these and I have waited 16 months for Angiogram.

Dear Comp1

So sorry to hear of the terrible delay that your having getting your treatment.

Like others that have replied, I am sorry to say that even during these difficult times for the NHS , you seem to have be forgotten alone the line.

Even if your local services are experiencing delays then your would by now have a paper trail to back that up, ie the sorry to tell you blah blah blah letters.

You need to chase this up and get the treatment you deserve or at the very lest some answers to help levitate your worries.

Fight your corner, I have a towel ready to mop your brow, you will come out of it a winner.

Take care and please let us know.

In my experience you have to make a thorough nuisance of yourself to get treatment. Try everything, phone consultant’s secretary and persist if she is reluctant to help, badger GP, and do not give up. It is those who pester who get treated. I was ignored for months, even being reprimanded for emailing my consultant as was not the right was to contact him. So why include his email address on letters?I finally got them for negligence. through the ombudsman in London but it took 2 years before I eventually got an apology and compensation. It is unfortunate but if you do nothing you get nothing.

thanku I have already started by email to Patient Liason and I will follow up with Secretary, I also got told off last year in October2021 for contacting cardiology and the underlying attitude seemed to be that I was wasting their time. I will be much more persistent and insistent this time and will not accept any nonsense. As you say its been long enough and according to my book from the Community Heart Nurse and ICD is used for High risk patients. So no more routine or low risk excuses from them I will also start badgering GP more Once again thanks for support.
