Has anyone head a Cari-Heart analysis/test done? i had a CT angiogram done last Nov (following 2 years of heart tests to get the root cause of my ectopic heart beats) anyway the hospital sent my angiogram results off along with another random 400 other people to have this test done. My angiogram came back clear with no issues at all, this Cari-heart test not so good,
So im trying to understand what it actually means as according to this, the area AROUND the arteries can show how likely you are to have a HA due to some AI they run that can show inflammation, now i cant find anywhere that states what actually causes this inflammation, is it permanent, can say stress and anxiety cause it (2 years of trying to find an answer might not of helped)
i'm trying to speak with the Dr that did it, they did call me but i didnt have the results to cross ref them so they were talking at me about it without me being able to really process what it all means. ive struggled to find any meaningful info on it other than doom and gloom medical research papers.
So on paper my heart and arteries are fine, im not mr super fit im over weight wouldnt say obese, i dont drink, never smoked, i have no chest pain nothing (other than the on going issue of ectopic beats which we think are gastro in origin now) so looking at this objectively i would argue that a large % of population probably have this inflammation and are unaware of it, tbh i wish theyd never done it as it just sent my bloody anxiety off again!
Cheers

Thanks for the reply, i managed to speak with the cardio nurse at the hospital and its all very vague as this is a very new test thats come out, it basically has no follow up, you get a snap shot in time of the "inflamation" and then are left to it, there solution is statins (surprise surprise) so im a little more settled in my mind, ive booked in with the GP for a blood test for cholesterol (which im expecting to be high) and the GP said if its 3 or above she'd recommend statins, what is it with wanting to put everyone on the bloody things?!
Well I am glad you got to speak to the Rehab Nurse even if vague but sounds like it helped and you have an appointment with your GP and a blood test arranged
Years ago I was told I should go on statins and I thought the same as you they are putting everyone on them and I refused even though I was told my cholesterol was high
Some years later I had three heart attacks and a triple Bypass and I often wonder if I had taken statins would I have found myself where I did I shall never know now but what I do know is I take them now
See what your cholesterol comes back like and then you and only you can make that choice if you are going to take them if needed
Oh no dont get me wrong if its daft high and i cant bring it down myself i will go on them, it was high about 2 years ago i cut out processed meat and it went down to 2.5 so i think that kind of says its more diet/lifestyle than genetic!
