Have just been diagnosed and put on rivaroxaban 20mg. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow and missing beats. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Atrial Fibrillation
Hi - You’ll find plenty of advice in the AF Association forum here on HealthUnlocked.
I’ve had atrial flutter and fibrillation. I underwent an ablation for flutter in May and for fibrillation in June. If you have any queries or want any advice, feel free to ask.
Is there a different between "flutter" and "fibrillation?" I had an ablation for atrial fibrillation in March and although it seems successful - so far - I experience each day a number of what I call "skipped beats." Is it likely this is "fluttering?"
Only way to diagnose flutter is on ECG but yours sound more like ectopic beats (I get llts of those!).
Thanks for your helpful reply.
Hi, I am new on here and have been diagnosed with AF about 3 years ago after an episode in my gym.
I have had one Cardioversion that only lasted about a week and now awaiting a Convergant Ablation, apparently a new ish procedure?
I do not really suffer with daily problems of this condition apart from on occasions a dull ache/pain in the central area of my chest.
Is this ‘Heart Palpitations’?
I do get out of breath really easily now and always feel so tired!
A bit difficult to deal with at times as ran since age of 10 and spent 12 years in Paras as a PTI.
Saw Cardiologist last week in preparation for my up and coming procedure and he basically stated that my previous fit lifestyle could well have contributed to why I now have this condition?.
I had bypass surgery 4 years ago, followed by angioplasty with 4 stents. I was given a cocktail of drugs post op.
I felt awful and developed anxiety.
I then began doing research to learn how I can help myself through natural means. I realized that I had to change my diet and lifestyle permanently.
I have since lost 40 lbs to normalize my weight. All of my medical issues have disappeared, and I no longer take any medications, not even a baby aspirin.
If you haven't already done so, you should modify your diet and lifestyle to address your CAD. The Mediterranean Diet is considered the best diet for health. You should also walk daily for at least 30 minutes and ideally up to 60 minutes, if you are able to.
If you have not had bypass surgery then the best way to avoid it is to make these dietary and lifestyle changes immediately.
Avoid all sugars, simple carbohydrates and processed foods.
Increase your intake of legumes, vegetables, fruits, avocado, nuts and seeds, and have cold-water fish such as salmon, 2-3 days per week.

Good luck.
I'm sorry but can't really help. I'm only on 1.25mg and have paroxysmal a.f. Luckily I've never had palpitations etc. I think I would go back to the doctor and tell them how you feel. Best of luck.
