There's been a lot posts here recently regarding bisoprolol. I currently take 1.25 twice a day. I'm plagued by horrible dizzy spells, weakness and fatigue. I am planning to discuss this with my GP but wondered if others feel the same, and if there are any alternatives with less side effects! I take them apparently to help with palpitations. Thank you.

Bisoprolol
How long have you been on it? It does seem to take a few weeks to adapt to it. Sometimes a change to an older beta blocker, like Atenolol, helps. I had to be careful with doggy poo bags for months till it settled. Someone said I should have a bigger dog forgetting gravity is a great leveller!
Had been on 1.24 daily for some time and relatively ok, but increased dose about 6 months ago and dizziness etc., increased since then. Was hoping it might pass but feel it is holding back overall recovery now. Hoping there may be an alternative with less effects for me! Thanks for replying and the image of doggy poo bags lol!
I was prescribed Bisoprolol (2.5 gm daily) as an experiment to see if it reduced the chest pain I was experiencing. I had spells of minor and major dizziness on and off for the month I was taking it. Also chest/cough problems. After I stopped taking it the symptoms cleared up fairly quickly (fingers crossed) although it has to be said that I am prone to both symptoms anyway.
Every medicine has side effects, read the patient information leaflet for the long list.
If you are one of the few who have side effects, that are more than uncomfortable, discuss with your GP or the specialist that prescribed them.
I was switched from bisoprolol which I couldn't manage, to nebivolol and can tolerate that. I also try to take it away from calcium channel blocker and ace inhibitor to minimize conflict or accumulative effect.I also take toward evening, to get the main effect in the night while hopefully sleeping. When just starting a med, I determine to try it for three or four weeks before giving up on it, to allow time for side effects to lessen, unless of course its intolerable or unacceptable, Don't know if it all actually does something to help but I like to think it does,
